Jesus Meets His Mother

Perhaps it is the familiar face of his mother that gives Jesus the courage to stand again. Maybe he remembers a moment when he fell as a child and saw those same eyes encouraging him to get up and try again. Although Mary cannot carry the cross for him, Christ is strengthened by her love. It blankets him in his suffering.

For Reflection:

The very thought of certain people in our lives can give us hope in the most hopeless situations. Whose image or presence has comforted you during this time?

Action:

Just as Mary’s love embraced Christ, we remember all parent’s whose love surrounds their children, especially children who are ill. We pray in a particular way for parents who are supporting their children in this time of social distancing and isolation. May the love of parents bring comfort to children during these scary times.

Pray in silence for parents whose love and good works strengthen their children.

When you’re ready, offer this prayer and move to the next station.

Prayer: We adore you, O Christ and we bless you. Because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world. Amen.
